Crow's Nest Yachts

Crow's Nest Yachts: "CROWS NEST YACHTS and Captain JOAN GILMORE, a USCG 100T Master and ASA instructor, have teamed up to offer specialized sailing classes FOR WOMEN BY WOMEN! Whether you are part of a partnership that owns a boat and want to have a more active role, or you simply are interested in learning how to sail, our 'SAILING WOMEN' series of classes offer a more supportive approach for women sailors."

Other Instruction | Pacific Yachting & Sailing: "Note: Currently Pacific Yachting is only conducting Woman Only Sailing courses bases on 2-3 students that have their own group.
Since 1979, Pacific Yachting and Sailing in Santa Cruz has introduced thousands of students and accomplished sailors to the excitement and pleasures of sailing on Monterey Bay and the Pacific ocean. Pacific Yachting & Sailing (PY&S) now offers women sailors the most extensive sailing program on the West Coast. (Click here for all course descriptions)"

Women’s roles: Chef, stew and captain, too | The Triton

Women’s roles: Chef, stew and captain, too | The Triton: "According to a survey done by The Triton in 2007, 70 percent of women in yachting these days have finely tuned their stewardess talents toward the art of the perfect napkin fold, elegant flower arrangements, and laundry skills that still amaze me.

Yet, another large percentage of women in yachting express their genius in the galley. They are able to whip up incredible meals in the amount of space that would rival the interior of a VW Bug. And they do this while being heaved to and fro across the galley, and somehow the meals still come out looking like works of art."

NAUTICALweb - Damiana Corrias, woman captain

NAUTICALweb - Damiana Corrias, woman captain: "Damiana Corrias is one of the very few existing women super-yacht masters and we managed to catch up with her through the grapevine of her male counterparts. She is currently skippering a 22-metre Farr Southern Wind, 'Nessun Dorma', which was built in a Cape Town boatyard in South Africa. Chance would have it that the owner of 'Nessun Dorma' is also a woman who obviously has no prejudices about the seafaring skills of the fair sex. I meet Damiana in Viareggio where we have a pleasant chat about her activities on board the yacht berthed in the Arpeca dock, where it will spend the winter, after a busy summer of magnificent sailing cruises in the Mediterranean."
