The Health Hazards of Noise Pollution

The Health Hazards of Noise Pollution: "Excessive sound can hurt much more than your ears but politicians are doing little to curb the problem of noise pollution, the San Jose Mercury News reported July 25.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization (WHO) say that noise pollution can cause everything from irritation and lost work productivity to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. The National Institutes of Health estimate that 15 percent of Americans ages 20-69 have suffered hearing loss due to excessive noise."
